Spain international Dani Ceballos has said that he does not regret the decision to leave Real Madrid. The 23-year-old midfielder joined Arsenal on a season-long loan deal earlier this summer following a successful European Under-21 campaign with Spain where he was named as the player of the tournament.

Since then, he has already made a strong impression at the north London club with a goal and a couple of assists while he has also contributed with the defensive side of his game. Speaking in a press conference, Ceballos acknowledged that Los Blancos are doing impressively well at the top of the Spanish league but he does not regret the choice to joining the Gunners.

He added that he did not enjoy his football over the past couple of seasons and he is grateful for the opportunity with the Gunners which has earned him a route back to the senior Spain squad, he told: “Real Madrid are doing pretty good. I know there are several injured players. I am now in Arsenal, I feel very good. I was clear that I wanted to leave. I have been successful leaving Madrid. Right now I am where I want to be and I am very happy. My idea was to go out, play and enjoy football. In the previous two years I had not done so. I was successful in going out…because I am in the Spanish team.”

Ceballos has been in-and-out of the starting XI at Arsenal this term but he has been offered the chance to flourish in an attacking midfield role. Compared to this, he was mostly used as a holding midfielder for Los Blancos over the past two seasons and it is no surprise that he has provided more on the attacking point of view with the Gunners. Ceballos is expected to feature for La Roja during the forthcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Norway and Sweden.
