ZinedineZidane took over Real Madrid as the head coach of the Spanish club on January of 2016 and so far, the French manager has been doing an extremely impressive job at the helm as he has led his squad to a Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup title.

This was achieved during his debut season as the head coach which is a remarkable feat to accomplish as there are many highly rated managers with very talented teams that aren’t able to lift the UEFA Champions League at all and ZinedineZidane was able to do this in his first season.

Despite the memorable and historic seasons that Zidane has been going through with Real Madrid, the French manager has recently stated that he does not know what will happen once his contract ends with the Spanish club which expires in 2018.

“I’ve one more year left on my contract but I am not sure, so I am not preparing anything for next season. I am thinking just about what I have left this season.I know how big this club is, I know what it means to be coach of Real Madrid, for good and bad. So I am ready for everything. That is why I always speak of the next game that is what interests me. And it will always be like that until my last day here as coach’’ Real Madrid’s ZinedineZidane as he stated that he simply focusing on the current season but his long term future remains undecided.

Real Madrid are the current and defending champions of the UEFA Champions League. The Spanish club now has the task of defeating Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the current 2016-17 season and the team of ZinedineZidane started off with the right foot after defeating Bayern Munich 2-1 in their first leg and has a slight advantage when the 2nd leg kicks off on April 18.

These upcoming UEFA Champions League fixtures will be crucial in whether or not Zidane gets a contract extension from the head chiefs of Real Madrid but nonetheless, the Frenchman has still proved his worth and deserves to get a renewal.
