Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero has become the subject of a transfer move to English Premier League club Liverpool according to his agent. Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero has found opportunities limited at the Santiago Bernebeu since the arrival of former Chelsea manager José Mourinho.

It has been thought that the Portuguese would be willing to trade the player for the likes of Frank Lampard from Chelsea, but any such move is yet to materialise. It seems that Liverpool are looking to take advantage of the uncertain future surrounding Esteban Granero by becoming the first club to officially register an interest in the player.

Liverpool have been undergoing a major revamp after the arrival of manager any Dalglish and new owners John Henry. They have been looking to sign players of value, who will also have resell value at the end of their contract. Esteban Granero is one such player because he is only 24 years old. However, Liverpool will also be facing competition from Juventus for his signature according to his agent. His agent has been the first one to come out with statements that Liverpool have officially shown their interest in signing him.

“He’s finding his chances limited at Real. If he can’t play at Madrid, then he’ll play somewhere else. It’s as simple as that. He’s keen for a move away – possibly to Liverpool,” Lazaro told The International Business Times. Esteban Granero spent a season on loan at Getafe and arrived back at Real Madrid just as the incoming manager José Mourinho.

However, he has never really impressed at the Portuguese, who tends to favour players of his thoughts and those who are much defensive than others. Esteban Granero has said that he is looking to move to Liverpool only in search of first-team opportunities.
